    Fifth Annual Awards Sponsored by RAK Chamber of Commerce & Industry Recognize Innovation in 18 MENA Nations

    MENA Newswire: Fairfax / Virginia: Winners in the fifth annual Middle East & North Africa Stevie® Awards, the only awards program to recognize innovation in the workplace throughout 18 nations in the Middle East and North Africa, have been announced. The awards are sponsored by the RAK Chamber of Commerce & Industry. The list of Gold, Silver, and Bronze Stevie Award winners is available at Stevieawards.com/Mena.

    The 2024 Middle East & North Africa Stevie Awards have recognized winning organizations in 13 nations: Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates. More than 1,000 nominations in Arabic and English were evaluated in this year’s competition. Winners were determined by the average scores of more than 150 professionals worldwide, acting as judges in more than 150 categories recognizing apps, achievements, companies, public relations, customer service, human resources, individuals, live and virtual events, management, social media, technology, thought leadership, and more.

    Stevie winners will be presented their awards at a gala banquet at the Mövenpick Resort Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates on Saturday, 2 March.  Tickets for the event are now on sale.

    Nepal flood missing count rises to 6,150 after verification

    Nepal’s National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority has raised the number of people missing after the Aug. 26 floods to 6,150. The revised total is 971 higher than the previous figure of 5,179. Authorities have also recovered 1,403 bodies since the disaster struck. The floods and debris flows caused extensive damage across northern Nepal, particularly near the border with China. Search teams have continued working through river corridors, damaged communities, and sites connected to major hydropower projects.
